An Essay of Dramatic Poesy Summary by John Dryden.                                               Through these characters, Dryden examines several important dramatic topics and contentions. He argues that the English stage allows for more variation and originality, unlike the French neoclassicists' rigorous commitment to the unities of time, place, and action. Additionally, Dryden discusses the usage of verse as opposed to prose in plays, stating that he prefers verse as a more refined and appropriate mode for dramatic expression.

Dryden's View of Dramatic Poetry.

1. Diversity and Liberty.                         2. Unity of Time, Place, and Action.      3. Verse Vs. Prose.                               4. Tragicomedy.                                     5. Evaluation of Shakespeare.                                                                                               Shatakshisarvaiya.

Socrates

Socrates - The Life & The Triale.

Socrates, revered founder of the western philosophical tradition,is better understood as a mythic philosopher than as a historical figures. He lived in Athens, from 469 until: his exclusion in 399 BCE. He never wrote a world - our known ledge of philosophy of Socrates depends absolutely on records of his students and contemporary. Socrates was certainly a strange, eccentric personality: he wandered about in old, dirty clothes, with shoes, and played the part of destitude. By all account, he was considered.Though enormously respected by student and admiers,He also head powerful enimis, who accused him of two weighty crimes: atheism and the corruption of the youth.                                                                                  "Euthyphro" , the first episode in Plato's trial and Death of Socrates take place outside the courthouse in Athens. On his way to trial, Socrates encounter euthyphro , a confident athenian preparing to sue his own father. Naturally. Socrates stopes to question Euthyphro regarding the Nature Of piety.
Socrates embarks on a famous discussion on the Nature of wisdom.                                                                              In 'crito' and "phedo". Socrates and his disciples grapple withe the jury s verdict faced with the opportunity to feel Athens and escape excution, Socrates discusses the relationship with the state.
The life and death of Socrates are enshrined in the work of plato, Socrates pupil. Plato lived in Athens from 429to347 BCE , where he founded his Acdamy. Plato in turn, trained anthor major figure of the western tradition: Aristotle. Teacher and student are depicted above, in Rachel's iconic the school of Athens. In his countless dialogue plato expresses on extraordinary fascinations for forms -- the eternal, essential abstractions underlying all earthly objects.

Renaissance Literature

★   Traditions Review of a Film on the Elizabethan/Shakespearean Era

A well-respected and famous figure even during his time, Willam Shakespeare has notably been the            subject of many stories.                                  Shakespeare in Love
Whilst desperately struggling with writer's block, Shakespeare in Love depicts vibrantly amorous Willam Shakespeare as he searches for inspiration for his latest play. It is.             During this time that he meets viola.      ,who quickly becomes his muse.               Brilliant and bold and boasting an incredibly famous cast of English actors ,this remains a romance for the ages.       (2) Elizabethan: The Golden age (2007)                        A fitting sequel to the Elizabethan Film above, cate Blanchett reprise her role as queen Elizabeth I in England.Taking place during the time that Shakespeare would have been rising in popularity, Queen Elizabeth face a military attack from Spain,an assassination plot, and romantic betrayal.                                                               (3) Elizabeth (1998)
Starring cat Blanchett as queen Elizabeth I, this is a biographical Film that conveys the realities and challenges that this monarch faced when she first ascended the throne in 1558.although plot lines were fictionalized, the plot is based on real people who existed in the Tudor era.        (4) Orlando (1992)
Starring tilda Swinton as the titular Orlando, the story of the androgynous character begins during the time of Shakespeare, in the Elizabethan era, when Orlando is a favourite Lord of queen Elizabeth I. His journey accelerates through centuries in time as he lives for a long time whilst remaining youthful, and then suddenly weakes up one day and discovers that he has become a woman.adapted from the novel by viginia woolf, Orlando is an enigmatic yet truly engaging tale.        (5) Anonymous (2011)

Directed by Roland Emmerich, Anonymous is deeply intriguing fictional story.it boasts a very over - complicated plot, yet it is certainly an interesting interpretation based on the lossely -evidenced theory that Shakespeare did not write his own work. It fictionalizes the life events of Keyes historical figures such as queen Elizabeth I, Willam Shakespeare,Ben Jonson, and the Eral of Oxford, to name a few.                                                                 (6) Mary Queen of Scots (2018).

This film provides some intense insight into the historical feude that was created between catholic monarch Mary Queen of Scots and English queen Elizabeth I. Although some artistic licence was taken regarding the on -screen plot, there are plenty of accuracies as there were questions over the rightful queen of the English crown.                                                                   shatakshi Sarvaiya.
